Where the locals eat
The Mission themissionsd.com
We have been going to Mission for our weekend brunch for many years. They offer “Intensely flavored eclectic dishes” at reasonable prices and great service too. Get there early or expect a short wait that is worth while. We call our trips “The mission to Mission.”
World Famous worldfamouspb.com
California Costa Cuisine. Known for famous tacos, this place serves up a fancy dinner. But if you are looking for a great brunch spot, look no further. Expect a bit of a wait during peak times but the food is delicious and favorably priced. The bloody Mary is world class.
Amplified Ale Works aka. Kabob House amplifiedales.com
Hidden upstairs in a strip mall this is not only a restaurant but also a brewery. Their beer list consists of beers that are off the beaten path (no BudLight here). The food is excellent and when they are not at capacity the service is good.
The Tourist Traps
These next 3 places are all located in the Belmont Park area and I see them as tourist traps. They are the obvious and most convenient places to grab some food if you are not from the area. The food is decent but expect to pay a premium because well you are a tourist and this is the beach…. sucker.
Cannonball, Draft and Wavehouse.
